What do You refuel Your body with?
We in our family have for a couple of years now chosen to change our diet. For example, we have removed grain and sugar and instead tried to invest in as nutritious and healthy food as possible. In the family, everyone got different results a little depending on the individual and we quickly came to the conclusion that there were no more than practical disadvantages that needed to be adjusted. Our boys were able to quickly see the whole picture and thereby make wise useful choices, but our daughter was of course referred to the good will of others. Partly in school but also privately in the social contexts.
We her parents could also quickly state that we needed some form of medical certificate for her to have access to the right diet and the nutrition that made her so much sharper, faster and more alert. The anti-inflammatory diet that gave her the initiative for new topics of conversation around the dining table. The healthy food that gave her a stomach that previously, honestly, worked badly throughout her life. We had stuffed her with various strange products to create flow in her stomach, happily encouraged by the care. We had lubricated her with creams that were more or less sticky and enriched with cortisone and we had driven miles in a wheelchair because she did not have the strength, energy and surplus to keep up with the rest of us even on the slightest walk. We tried with the doctor at the health center, but since Doris does not have the "gene" for celiac disease or any other proven allergy, it was a dead end.
After a lot of thinking, we parents came to the conclusion that we needed some kind of proof that not only showed the results that we noticed and saw in our family life. Said and done, we decided to contact a functional medicine doctor who thinks cause instead of curing symptoms.
The new doctor would take blood samples that were so "broad" that it showed her reaction to basically all food. The only thing was that Doris' biggest problem had already been solved with the help of the food, so then we had to provoke her with, for example, wheat flour for a few weeks. Samples were done and then we got the answer that she has a lot of hypersensitivity to, among other things, gluten protein, milk protein, eggs just to name a few. Even though we cleaned up the diet completely as we thought we had, we still used eggs and dairy products, such as cream and butter. Once we removed this too, the skin problems that remained were basically completely gone. What conclusion should we draw here? Yes, we go "all in" and this may be provocative for many, but as Doris' father says - "Do you refuel your car with half water and half petrol?"
