Taking out the joy in advance
Doris has something that most of the rest of us lack, the amazing ability to take out the joy in advance. The rest of us paint scenarios with alternative brakes and clouds of worry. We are doing everything to prepare for what is to come and the more we deal with it inside our ”brainoffice” the more complicated it becomes and we suspect that this might only be half the fun. Doris, on the other hand, laughs and giggles her way by taking out the joy in advance. She doesn't miss a chance and when she has something in front of her that she really looks forward to, she has been laughing happily for a whole week. She fussed and fussed with her company, invisible to us, made wild plans and released the pressure her internal bubbles like a popping bottle of champagne. She has reminded us at least 5 times a day that on Friday, it will happen. I sigh and think she is talking about it a bit too much or maybe it's just because I don't have the lovely talent myself to giggle all the way to a big adventure. She has already gotten a lot of joy out of next Friday, so if, against the odds, it were to be cancelled, she has really enjoyed herself all the way. I stand next to it and feel a tiny ounce of envy. Well, if Really think about it, I'm mostly happy because I get to be in a corner and see and experience the happiness that lasts at the same high level for such a long time. Not everyone is as lucky as I am..
